I’m staying cozy in my house, hiding from the snow, and teaching myself how to play the piano 🎹

I played the violin for like 8 or 9 years, but I wasn’t super passionate about it. Well, my husband recently started taking piano lessons and bought a keyboard to practice. I couldn’t help myself and I started fiddling with it, and now he can’t keep me off of it 😂🙈 We got it yesterday and I’ve already taught myself a few songs, and I’m figuring out how to read/play the music.

I must say going from a violin to a piano is a bit of a struggle in regards to the way the music is written. My brain was like wait… I have to read two lines of music and play different notes on both hands?!🤣 I’m taking small baby steps, but I’m loving the opportunity to learn something new.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone has a great year!!

Personally, last year was a mess for me, and it completely kicked my butt 😅 I dealt with so many ridiculous things, one after another, it left me feeling emotionally and mentally defeated. It honestly was probably one of the most challenging years of my life so far.

Reflecting back on it, going through everything I did was an eye opening experience. It’s made me have a different perspective on life.

⭐️ Love yourself, nobody’s perfect ❤️ You’re your own worst critic, and I promise hating on yourself isn’t going to make you feel better. If you make a mistake, learn from it. If you aren’t happy with something in your life, work on changing it. Hating on yourself doesn’t get you anywhere.
⭐️Things can always be so much worse than what they already are, so appreciate what you do have.
⭐️Value your health. Take care of both your physical body and your mental health.
⭐️Don’t sweat the small stuff, and don’t let one small thing ruin your day.
⭐️Don’t think I should have/would have/could have. Learn from those mistakes and share what you’ve learned with others. Thinking about all the things you should have done leads to you living in the past, and not appreciating the life you presently have.
⭐️If you don’t like the life you’re currently living, only you have the power to change that.

⭐️Communication is everything in relationships with your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend, friends and family.

I’m hoping this year will be better. I have a big trip to Japan/Australia/New Zealand in March that I’m looking forward to. I’m hoping to start taking some college classes again … yes, I have a masters in IT but I want to pursue another degree because I enjoy learning 😅 I plan on focusing on making new content to share here, and get back to posting daily again.

On another note, I apologize for not posting the past week or so. I was traveling and visiting family for the holidays. While I was away, I ended up catching a cold 🤒 I finally just started feeling better yesterday so I plan on working on making new content for you.
