No lashes, extensions, or nails - just me.
I don’t like everything about myself, just like most of you. Insecurities are a natural part of everyone’s life. However when it comes to this surgery, it’s not a matter of being insecure for me, it’s matter of uncovering my true self.
I know that I am beautiful as I am and don’t “need” to do this, but that has nothing to do with my desire to have this surgery.
All I want is to be able to recognize the person that I see in the mirror. I went through hell to discover who I am, and for me to be the best version of myself, I also have to feel like the best, no matter the challenges that it means I have to face.
I know that this surgery does not change who I am, but in a sense, it does. I will finally feel like me, and I will be able to fully embody my confidence and self. The perception of who I am will be forever changed which was really scary for a while, but I won’t allow fear of the unknown to keep me from chasing my happiness.
I’m very excited for this next chapter, but I never want to forget where I came from.
