Living in Denver, we are very lucky to have open spaces, mountains, lakes, etc all around us. I saw a herd of deer this time, but one of the last hikes I went on I heard Elk all around me. Elk sound insane! Hardly any people were out this day. Some mountain bikers. I got about 4-5 miles in before I decided to take a trail I havenāt been on before, that I assumed brought me back to the beginning of the trail head. But it didnāt, and it left me high and dry about an hour away from the parking lot. Made it back anyways, and Iām alive! Canāt wait to go for another hike. I always bring my trusty knife & bear spray :) Also, I leave for Miami in a week!!
