Based on my last poll, you wanted to hear the story of "The time I was held at gunpoint." Here it is ;) Remember, my stories are 100% true and will demonstrate how a good idea can quickly become a stupid one! That story happened a few years ago. My friend Julie had just moved into her new duplex. We had spent all day helping her move and unpacking. At the end of the night, James, Cindy, and I stay at Julie's place to have a drink to celebrate her move. We all know how one drink can turn into two and a whole night of drinking is about to start! We have a bottle of wine, then a few shooters, and we share laughs and stories. However, Julie wasn't planning for us to stay over, so we quickly ran out of booze. It was 1:50 AM, so the liquor stores were closed, and the bars would be closed within the next 10 minutes. James had this brilliant idea "I've got plenty of booze at home! Let's get a Uber, grab the booze at my place, and come back!" At the time, it seemed like a brilliant idea. We call the Uber, and the four of us (LOL - because everyone knows you need to be four to go grab a bottle of liquor!) hop in the car (that was pre-covid haha). It was about a 20 minutes drive. How dumb were we? Drive 40 minutes total at 2 AM to get a few extra drinks! I'm tired just thinking about it nowadays. We get there, and James (the dumbass!) realizes that he forgot his keys back at Julie's place. (Maybe the proof we didn't need those extra drinks, right? haha) "Wait for me here. I'll enter by the backdoor." We didn't see anything wrong with that statement. Because why enter in the front when you can get in from the back, right? (that sounds dirty) We asked the Uber driver to wait for us as it would be a quick in and out. (always was with James LOL) At the time, we didn't know James didn't have his keys. BANG BANG! (it wasn't a BANG! But I don't know how to write the sound of breaking glass, so you read Bang but make a glass breaking noise in your head. Okay? Cool!) We hear this loud glass-breaking noise. "WTF WAS THAT" yells, Julie. We see the Uber car instantly leaving the scene. We thought that he was probably just tired of waiting. The front door opens. "Get in," says James. "I forgot my keys at Julie's place, so I just broke the kitchen window. I'll deal with that tomorrow." Every sentence ending with "I'll deal will that tomorrow." when you had a few drinks assuredly means you just did something stupid. We get in the house, go to his liquor cabinet. Since the Uber is gone, we start chilling at James' place instead. We were not feeling like doing another drive to head back to Julie's. I don't know how much time has passed. 5 minutes? 10? All I know is that I had a G&T in my hands, and suddenly the front door SLAMS, and we hear: "POLICE! STAY WHERE YOU ARE! I turn around, and a cop is pointing his gun towards me!" "POLICE! IDENTIFY YOURSELF!" When the Uber driver flew the scene, he thought we were breaking & entering at a stranger's place, so he called the cops !!!!! I wonder how many dumbasses call a Uber a 2 AM to break & enter with 3 of their friends, but whatever lol James was in another room, and he starts yelling. "PLEASE DO NOT SHOOT! I am coming out of the next room, hands in the air, I am not armed." But when he appears, he has one hand in the air and the other holding a Jagerbomb, LOL! He showed his ID, he explained that he was living there. They still looked all over the place and left right after. At 2 AM...we should have gone to bed. Older us know that by now. Actually, older us would already be in bed WAY before that haha! But 23 years old us were party animals who would always watch the sunrise after a long partying night! Imagine the other scenarios. What if the cops had entered, and I was making out with Julie haha! James even offered them to do a Jagerbomb before they left (told you he was a dumbass LOL!) Anywyas, for a minute or two there, I got SUPER stressed in front of the gun. I say one minute or two, but it was probably only a few seconds. STILL! Okay, back to work on my end!
