We now have phones which can adjust automatically to that kind of environment. Some do a better job than others. While it's not always perfect, the astonishing result of pictures taken with phones is breathtaking sometimes. "Back in the days" (shit, I sound like a grandma), you had to set up your lights and every setting of your camera to be able to have a perfect shot like that. It took over half an hour for the photographer (an experienced one!) to adjust everything. And yes, for that half hour, I had to be in front of the camera too. The camera had to adjust so we could see me and the lighted background crispy clear. Lighted city backgrounds like the ones in Vegas used to be a hell of a job! It turned out amazing, but rest assured, it wasn't a small task!
