**#WeAskRiley Wednesday** ***What's the most challenging part of your job?*** There are a few. But let's focus on one for today. Going through the slow times is one of them. What does that mean? Yes, I can make a good salary by live broadcasting. Sometimes, people are impressed with the tips amounts that are received. However, few know that I sometimes spend 2, 3, 4 hours making pennies per hour. And when I say pennies, it's not an expression. I mean pennies. I've once been online broadcasting for 6 hours, not making a single token. I often have hours making $2/hour. I have days where working at Mcdonald's would pay better. But there are also beautiful days and some fantastic hours. You "only" have to go through the hard, slow times. You need to be standing in front of a webcam, more than often, alone, without anyone talking. You have to keep up a happy face and a positive spirit mood no matter what. It might have been 3 hours since you last made a single token, and in those 3 hours, plenty of trolls will have logged on to insult you, try to scam you into sending free things, or ask you a bunch of questions with no intention ever to support you. If you finish your day with $5 earnings, you have to go to bed with your head up, thinking that tomorrow things will turn around. You have to find the energy every day to convince yourself to go back online and cherish the challenge. Don't get me wrong. I love my job, and I'm good at it. I'm grateful for it. But that doesn't mean there aren't harder stretches. But you need to be strong mentally, confident, and able to self-motivate yourself on most days. It's easy to sit on the couch, complain that you're tired, and find 1001 reasons why you're taking the day off. It's easy to be angry at the world on slow days. It's easy to get annoyed by trolls. No job is perfect. But I'm proud of myself for doing 27 miss MFC races where I stood up in front of the webcam for 31 consecutive days for 10+ hours a day. I'm proud of having gone through the harder days or the slow times. I'm proud of self-motivating myself to move my butt every day and get to work after my workout. How did I survive it all? By being grateful. Grateful to have freedom. Grateful to be my own boss. Grateful to be able to afford food and a good home. Grateful to do something that I enjoy doing. Grateful to have made amazing friends through this line of work. Thank you for everyone who's making those hard/long times worth it. Thank you to those who make me laugh. Thank you to those who let me know they enjoy what I do. Thank you to those who support me in their own way. You guys are the best <3
