Added 2021-06-15 15:06:27 +0000 UTC**For this Travel Tuesday with Riley, let's stop at the Yarra Valley (visited in 2017)** The Yarra Valley is an Australian wine region located east of Melbourne, Victoria. It is a cool climate region best known for producing Chardonnay, sparkling wine, and Pinot noir. How do you know it's a super region for grapes? Chandon (from Moet and Chandon) is established in the Champagne region (in France), in Nappa Valley (California, USA) and... in Yarra Valley! One of the world's largest champagne producers thinks Yarra Valley is good enough for them means there's something worthy there! To be honest, I've had a wonderful day. I did visit Chandon vineyards, which was a big ass corporate place (with much better customer service than in Champagne, duh! LOL). My two favorite places, though were: Yarra Yering https://www.yarrayering.com Pimpernel Vineyards https://pimpernelvineyards.com.au They had terrific wines and a fun family vibe. There are a bunch of restaurants in the vineyards. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. I'd go back in a heartbeat. If you're a wine enthusiast, this is somewhere to go for sure. Australia has so many other lovely wine regions that you can fill a whole week visiting the different regions (probably my favorite country for wine!) What are your thoughts on Australian wine?
